@Dukimonster since the MT-07 is offered (2014), the Roadsitalia exhaust is on the market. So there are enough stories and experience reports out there, that I do not need to add an other by me.

Ground clearance is the first and an absolute no go. Too loud is the second, it does not matter how many approvals you may present, too loud is too loud.
Regarding the db killer, EUR 4 already wanted a secured fastening that can not removed by a simple tool. Such as special head screw plus a welding spot. EUR 5 even demands a weld in db killer. But the most considerable change is the placement of the kat much closer to the cylinder head to reduce the heat up time.

All in all, this exhaust is no recommendation.

Well, thanks for your opinion. As stated before ground clearance is absolutely no issue - even in tight corners. Since this exhaust is not from 2014 but 2022 there is also plenty of reason to believe that they might have improved some things from previous years. However, I'm very satisfied with it but luckily we all have our own opinions :)
What is the noise laws in Germany? Will they do a "Fahrverbote" or give you a fine and let you drive on? Just curious

Opinion is, when I write that loud pipes is something for people which normally get no attention and mostly to find at low distance riders. A short stint to McD or Starbucks, maybe.
Real touring riders do not need a loud pipe. They generate all the joy and entertainment by riding. There is no superficially arguing needed that hey are looking for sound, but honestly are looking for noise only.

Beside my opinion above, even you should have heard about a general noise discussion in Europe. Testing noise radars in France, motorcycle bans in Tyrol, Austria, or the increasing number of focus controls in the Dolomites during season from spring to autumn.
Those focus controls are en vogue here in Germany for some areas and years as well. Highly motivated, on a weekend working police men care for your safety. Short report for your entertainment from the press department Polizei Düren, Eifel.

You can imagine, if you are from abroad, you pay in advance or have to deposit some thousand Euro. They will confiscate your motorcycle and wait for the expert assessment. As written above, too loud is too loud. And here you have the unique chance that an independent authority will check if your EUR 5 exhaust works within the legal limits. Anyhow by feet or taxi will be your transportation method back home.

This just written, as you asked for a friend.

I suppose that the only thing you are right about is, yes, it is your opinion.
A rather judgemental and sweeping generalisation of riders. You will probably find that 90% of riders you look down upon are a combination of both low and high distance / touring riders, like myself - although, I'm not a fan of the fast food or coffee places. When riding in Japan, I prefer to stick to rest stops of Matcha green tea and fresh seafood.

For the OP, the only benefit that comes out of this statement, would be the raising of the question, Can the exhaust you're looking for suit all the various scenarios of your own riding? Luckily, my answer is a resounding yes. I have the 200mm Black WIdow fitted from new at the dealership, and I'm extremely happy with it. It's surprising that after watching multiple online videos, this British product also seems to be a popular purchase in the States.

Luckily, us and our American counterparts can give such locations a wide birth when they don't appear palatable.

Well, I suppose that would be for the German authorities to determine, which they evidently do. I now have my first location to add to an Avoid List.

I suppose it does prove some of us have something to be thankful for, and that's where we ride our bikes.

Hi! I know this is an older thread, but I am really interesting in knowing if you are still happy with the exhaust? I am asking since I am thinking about buying the double fire from Roadsitalia for my 2018 XSR700. Did you have any trouble with yours? Need to do anything with theICU? It is supposed to be safe for the engine and legal here in Denmark as well! (I am Danish as you)

Thank you in advance!

Christen

I'm in the exact same situation. I havn't found anyone who tried to install euro4 exhausts on euro 5 models. For info the XSR 2021 are also euro 5
Maybe im reviving this thread, but I am attempting to install a 2017 akra exhaust on my 2022 in a few days. I'll do my best too report back, but the rep I spoke to at akra said there shouldnt be any reason it wouldn't work, and if it didnt, I could send it back.
If successful, it wont have a tune for awhile until i find someone to dyno tune or go with a power commander/vision. Havent decided what i wanna do yet and very few manufacturers show support for '22+ .

With the DB killer in, its extremely similar to stock, slightly louder. Its so similar to stock infact IMO its a waste of money if you dont intend to remove the DB killer. Without the killer in however... Its extremely fun, although it does tend to drone on longer rides. Loud AF, dont have an accurate form of measurement unfortunately. No changes to the bike after install (yet...getting a tune is on the to-do list). It does snap, crackle, and pop a fair bit with no tune so be warned.

No db killer in for puttering around town. Goes back in for the longer rides.

Where did you get it and if you don’t mind me asking what was the approximate cost? Have been in contact with Brogue as they are releasing more spitfire exhausts at some point soon. So hard to find anything for the XSR in Canada.
