Runs great! I used to quieter baffle that comes with it and it’s perfectly loud and didn’t negatively affect performance at all, it made it a little better actually.
I’m 6 foot and 245 and it scoots along like a champ. I’ve been up to 125 mph a couple times with no problem and it gets up and goes from any speed without hesitation.

 

Welcome to the forum. What you’re learning is that XSRs after 2021 have a slimmer aftermarket following and the changes in electrical make many accessories for older Gen I bikes non-applicable. Most hard parts work fine.

Look at pegs for the MT07 or Tenere 700/T7. They should fit and have a wider market.

SoCal is a great place to ride. I’ve spent many miles riding there from the ’80’s through the 2000’s before moving East. Enjoy exploring and consider taking a returning rider course if you haven’t already. Any of the MSF courses is a good way to refresh and hone your skills after the long hiatus. I did that after a 10 year pause and found it more helpful than I thought it would be. I’ve put 500k on since then with only a deer assault and low speed off pavement drops since then. We have to see them, they don’t see us.

 

Good to know information! I wasn’t sure if parts were interchangeable with the Tenere. I test rode one when choosing this bike. I liked elements of the MT7, the Tenere and this one obviously won but the Tenere was what I almost went with just because how comfortable it was but I liked elements this one best. So I’ll be getting some Tenere foot pegs it seems!

Agreed on a refresher riding course, already been looking at a couple different options.

By fitted do you mean they were a straight install or did you have to do some tweaking to make them work?

 

I tried these xitomer pegs before, they were too wide for my liking but im considering trying them again, paired with adjustable foot levers.

 

I like riding standing up for long periods and the wider the better. My main concern with aluminum ones though is how strong are they really. It's one thing to support the weight they bare while sitting and the occasional standing up briefly, but for 2-10 minutes I'm a tad concerned about snapping off and that would be an ugly crash. LOL

 

Just added some notes to some photos I took. See PDF attached. Anyone with mechanical experience/sympathy - please don't judge my hamfisted bolt removal (see second page). I learned a lesson about cheap tools!

 

The biggest differences between the 2 models are the electrics and the exhaust to meet Euro 5 emissions.
The majority of the bike like the frame remains the same, so things like the pegs should work ok.
