If this site(tuttosport.com) is accurate, the XSR700 is set to go on sale in Europe in November for 7,590 Euros with ABS as standard along with a 3 year warranty.
The total weight of the bike is only 186 kg and the rear frame is removable.
There's a few other bits of information but I can't understand the translated version all that well.

Let's hope the American release of the Yamaha XSR700 is also on it's way.

I hope Yamaha sees the sales potential of the XSR700 in America and brings them over. 7,590 Euros is a reasonable price for the XSR along with a 3 year warranty and it comes with ABS! If you convert it to american it should be around the same cost as the other scramblers.

Maybe the high sales volume of the ducati scrambler would convince them but Yamaha does have other models that never made it's way to America. We'll just have to wait and see but let's hope it's a short wait.

It could take a year or more before they make a decision if they choose to sell it here at all. We may be waiting for a while.

As you can imagine not everyone stays in the loop as much as we have, once it's well known through that process we should see a spike in people here.

The wait for a yay or nay from Yamaha about selling overseas is brutal. There has been no official announcement of it.
