The XT Donkey recently posted up a video test ride for anyone still on the fence about it. Seems like the seat is the only let down so I assume most of you customize it or switch it out.

It is not bad in my opinion, but I will get a custom one, that is my first plan.
Why are you so set on switching it if there is nothing wrong with it in your opinion?
Seen one comment that suggested its a weird looking bike. Have any of you guys at one point considered it a werid loooking bike?

It is just a question of how high the bike is right now. But somehow I feel it is not wrong, but could be better.

Not at all in my case, but I would say it is a special kind of beauty and not everyone is able to appreciate it. The Cate Blanchet of the motorbikes. ;)
Ahahah, the Cate Blanchet of the motorbikes it's the best definition for the XSR700! ;-)

Awesome, glad to hear that.

Just curious but what bikes have you had in the past that were comfortable or might have been uncomfortable?

Typically I see positive feedback on Yamaha seats, one area they seem to get right.
I think that comfortable seats are one of those things that are overlooked when bike shopping. It sucks when the seat is so uncomfortable that going on a medium or long term ride makes you really sore in the end. I'm not looking for some car size lazy boy seat bike, but having one that is comfortable to sit on is imperative.
Indeed. Unfortuantely its something you might not be able to find out unless you ride it for a while. Especially when you're one of the first owners and have nothing to refer to, like owners on a forum. Some people don't have to consider it as much as others, for them it would be good to jump into a bike right away .

I had a cbr600, triumph bonneville, street triple, gs800. Out of all these the standard Bonnie seat killed my back, the GS seat was to hard and the other two where fine. The yamaha I haven't even noticed any pain and I'm doing long rides. I suffer with lower back problems to this is some what of a blessing. I test rode the scrambler and that hurt my back.
What are you, North Korea or Russia bot?

Or is it just the silly advertising in your signature?

Tigerjohn: the offending spam has been removed. Thanks for the heads up.
There's really not much information in the video of any use to someone who is considering the XSR700. If you don't like how it looks you probably aren't considering it in the first place and as far as seats go...…………..the size of your behind usually defines what you think of it, i.e. a 250 lb. person is going to have a completely different opinion than a 150 lb. person.
