XSR700 Puig Medium Screen Review

Freeway winds are a pain and some may get a windscreen to deal with it. ****** Tom from Youtube purchased a medium screen from Puig for his XSR700 and it doesn't look good. Maybe those of you looking at a Puig screen would be interested in what he has to say.

I have my objections for the guy making the video, about his technical knowledge and expertise. I have already left him a comment on his video. No offense if it is someone from this forum!!

Share the objections ! We would like to know too.. :surprise:
At 2:26 he says that the parts are not finished, the are supposed to be like this in order the threads to hold the screw.

At 3:51 he can't even read the scheme and install the screen. He is supposed to unscrew the front screws on the head light. If you don't do that there is no way the screen will go all the way in, in order for it to be safely installed.
Here are the installing directions:

Guess it's a case of human error more than a bad windscreen. It's actually not bad if it can fit right on top of the headlight.
The screen is fine, but he hasn't got a clue on how to install it correctly.

Thanks for posting, it's always good to see things from another perspective.
Hi puchaatek.

What fork and rear axle bobbins have you fit to the bike? Evotech?

Frame looks like an R&G Aero?

Thanks
Thanks, collecting my XSR at the weekend. Will get evotech for fork and swing arm. ....do they spin?

Difficult to decide for the frame, R&G, rizoma and barracuda are on the shortlist. Concerned that Rizoma and Barracuda won't give enough protection in the event of a drop.
I must admit when you look at the instructions i found online it doesnt look like you need to undo the bolt of the headlamp frame when you just look at the brackets as they slide down but as per the video not fully and he did not put the spacers in either. I like the look of the short screen has anyone got this? Piks welcome!!!!

Hello everyone. I thought I'd post my experience with this screen. Bought it from Germany, ?40 delivered, 4 days later, a little trimming with the dremel to the bracket and voila! I'm happy!

That looks really nice, it looks like it flows properly
How does it affect motorway speed riding?
It makes a massive difference. For prolonged motorway riding no screen was really not an option. I originally had it further back ( which I thought looked better ) BUT it directed the blast straight to my head. Now it's just right for me.

Now it does :)
