Dear (XSR) XTribute owners, I am not happy with my Speedometer bracket... although I like its placement and design of the bracket to what it is attached I can't place a flyscreen.

The solution I have to this is that a LaserCut company in my hometown could very easily make a drawing of the original and tweak it a little so the speedometer will be placed a little more to the center (just enough) to be able to fit a Dart/Puig etc. Flyscreen.

Idea is to tweak as less as possible from the original but just enough...

I also want to make it out of a little less thick INOX instead of the 5mm Alu now used. I'm aiming for 3mm INOX (the offshore RVS variant) this saves the Powdercoat. Furthermore, I might in the center laser cut the XSR logo (the original has the Yamaha logo in it)

As "one-off" the prices will go towards €60,- with multiple the price drops significantly!
I'm willing to share the 3d drawings I'm going to make with this company of the final product.

Whos in for something like this? (I'm gonna make myself one anyway)

So if you look at the picture below it's a remake of the bracket (using the same bolts and holes) but then with the speedometer 2,5cm to the left, (so still off-center) and in INOX and laser engraved XSR logo at the spot where you see the Yahama logo now

Did you already check the available solutions and their position in combination with a fly screen? Such as LSL?

What I do not see is, that you will offer a solution for all screens, so it is very specific again. More neutral would be a bracket in the center, but there are already some solutions available.

Anyhow, good luck with your project, you will us keep updated, will you?

The issue with the available brackets what I have seen until now do not cover the XTRIBUTE empty space when you take of the original one. I just checked with 3 of my friend owning a "normal" xsr and the setup is so different that a "normal" fitting bracket from gilles in example would not come close as a fit for a xtribute.

The bracket I will create covers up for removing the original xtribute bracket. Something other do not do.

I looked for your LSL but same issue arises here: it does a bad job in replacing the original xtribute bracket. And that is a must need. (Only option would be also ordering the original cover bridge and then use a Giles or lsl one... But that I do not want)

My creation will perfectly fit with the normal xsr it will though replace that silver bridge with the xsr logo.

Keep you posted, will upload the drawing

Yamaha designers suck at speedo placement !
I disliked the standard XSR location, and I think they did even worse with the Xtribute.
I made one that is most similar to the Brogue version.
It's offset like the Xtribute, but not so darn forward.

Agree. Also made one in fusion 360 but have not cut it out yet. Will do so. Would be great with a ”3D print section” here at the forum.

Could I get a copy of that file? Two companies found it to difficult to create oneoff version... I now bought 20x20 cm 5mm alu plate and gonna do it myself. But if you got the demensions right I would love to get your fusion file 😊

Sure you could. I just need to pre cut one to ensure it’s a snug fit. 👍

This is as far as I came with a drawing of the original Xtribute version, it does not yet have the three folds it should have.

One is original, one is moved inwards (to accommodate flysceen bracket), one is with USB next to it (no more need for that)

Hey. Yup I did cut it. The measurements are great, however the the “arm” is too much in the way of the key insertion. Will change my idea more towards another solution.

5 millimeter is really thick. Not sure the rubber gaskets will fit thou. I will be using 3 millimeter aluminum.

The original Xtribute holder is 5mm alu (guess because its lengthy) , I know if you have not seen one, the Xtribute is a whole lot different from the original version (had one next to it last week) i bought myself a figure saw machine and a nice Dremel with workbench. this weekend ill work on my new bracket.

So above is both the sketch of the new bracket and the original bracket. the idea is to use the exact same position (twice bend) as the original but with the gauge significantly less to the right. this will allow for the Puig Headlight bracket to be installed without it trying to run through the original bracket of the gauge. (it would just not fit by about 1inch). After a long search for a CNC machine, I decided to buy the tools myself (Dremel and Dremel workbench + Figure saw machine) and give it a go.

Really nice. Looking forward seeing this mounted with speedometer. It would work just fine on a regular xsr as well?
Guess it should, it is mounted in front of the key hole, that's where that round part is for at my pinky finger. Need a lot of sanding tomorrow, bought loads of sanding drums for my dremel so I might get the job done tomorrow evening.

It needs two bends like the original part. When it's all nice and rounded and a snug fit I let it powder coat in either the same color gold as my rims or red as in the xtribute... Or maybe just transparent like my tank is...

It's a really snug fit with the original as you can see I need to make the two bends. I'll do that in a workbench with some hardwood. It's a tight bend... I hope for the best but got this far.
