First of all, apologize if it is a matter that has already been discussed. I have searched in the search engine but I have not found anything similar.
I bought an XSR 2022 model
Since I didn't like it very much, I bought a JVB headlight that is prepared for XSRs until 2021 (which came without led headlight) and comes with the typical cables:
-white (+) low beem
-red (+) high beam
-black (-) ground
-green (+) position light
So far, and following a "normal electronic logic" the connection should not be difficult.
The problem is that the mechanic of the official yamaha dealer says that "he is doing something strange with the high beam cable, which goes through the ecu" and that he has not dared to do it for not burning the ecu...
It seemed strange to me that the lights go through the ecu but nevertheless I have seen in forums comments like "I burned my control unit for adding extra lights to the high beam lights"
or "it seems that with the high beam lights connected to the ecu it gets 0.8v instead of 12v and when it gets 12v it burns"...
If anyone has any information where to continue looking I would be very grateful.
