Hi guys,

maybe you can help me deciding on what helmet to use with this bike. I was using an open face Bell Custom 500 and a Bell Bullit when I was a Triumph owner. Now the bullit is sold as I didn´t really liked it´s performance for such a price.

So I will keep the open face one, but I was thinking about getting a new full face helmet for long distance routes. Question is what kind of helmet fits the style of this bike???

It is a kind of retro re-styled motorbike, so it looks quite modern aswell and I don´t know if getting a kind of vintage helmet (such as the DMD Racer or 75), or getting a modern one. I was even considering to get a trail helmet as the Nexx XD1.

What do you think???

I was thinking of going with the exact same style as seen in promotional material, like what the banner of this forum has. I have a full face for a sport bike i got rid of recently... definitely won't be using that here.

I got two biltwell gringos (normal and S version) they are super comfy and really match the bikes style. I also had a bullit, hated it. I'll probs go between my biltwells and my AGV K5 (matt red/white stripes) for longer stints when i get a XSR.

Ahahaha, it is indeed! Somehow I got tired of all that massive number of "old school" cafe racer style everywhere. This new Yamaha is like a real thing, a proper re-styling but with the modern tech and modern look. In my opinion, they have nailed it.

About the Bell Bullit, I got one and I think it is too expensive for the quality it offers.

I was thinking about the Nexx G100 or even the DMD 75.

Guys, the XSR is a "REAL" Bike...so, the security should be your first thought!
I'm also chosing about my next helmet for the XSR and i have a doubt between two models:

- AGV GT Veloce Matt Black

- X-Lite X-702 GT Start N-Come Flash Black

Both these helmets are 5 Stars Sharp Rating, this means they are two of safest helmets in the world
With the X-Lite you will also have the internal sun visor that's very comfortable for touring.
If you have a Dark Visor on a helmet is a trouble when you find some tunnels but, with the X-Lite, you can use the standard Clean Visor, using the internal sun visor only if you need it
That's not a joke, it's an important option and contributes to increase the riding safety
Usually the helmets with the internal sun visor are not safe as the ones without it, but not in this case
If you see the helmets tests on Sharp Helmet Website, you can see the impacts point have exactely the same effectivness on both helmets!

So, the choice it's only about the look.

I always thought my next helmet would be an AGV, but this X-Lite it's very cool and for me i looks even better

What do you think about it?

Hey Basilico, I am not really familiar with the AGV helmets, but what you say is true, safety goes first, the look is not that important in the end.

I personally have seen many many helmets already, but didn´t made a choice yet. I even thought about this kind of raid helmet:

You're right, guys!
The most important thing is trying many as many helmets as possible.
Our heads is not made for all the helmets brands (for example i can't use Shoei helmets...they just don't fit goof for my head shape) and we must try all the helmets to find the perfect fit and comfort!

Mr Garcia, if you like these Dual Sport helmets, i think the best one is: Shark Explore R
Here is the link to his website:
