Are we able to put magnetic tank bags on our XSR700?

Yes but it'll fall off....
The tank panels are aluminium skins over the steel tank, the tank itself is about 20-30mm away from the outer panel. You would need one with straps or a tanklock type.

Tanklock has the benefit that it does not wear the paint. Is the safest and expensive too.
I prefer it.

It depends, if there´s not much weight on the bags probably not, and if is for occasional use neither.
But I don´t like them as much as the others! Are just my thoughts :smile2:

Straps will most definatly over time wear the paint or atleast wear tgrough what laquer there is. The paint on these tanks is notoriously thin so would not be a route id take.

Yes, but it goes with silver color scheme and their brown seats, and SW Motech bags.

I do like this strap, though...

Has anyone bought one of these and the bags that attach to them? I'm a big fan of the Givi tanklock system, but if the bag isn't on the bike, it looks a bit strange to me having the ring nowhere near to the filler cap.

Yes I have this bag on it, it looks good, but I can only fit a wallet and phone in plus a mini water bottle.
