Some Questions from a Newbie

Hey there I really hope you all understand my english :)

So my question is: I really like the looks of this bike but there is no bike close enough to my place which i could test ride. There is only a fz07/ mt 07
which I could try, do you think it is a good idea to test the fz 07 and then if i like it buy the xsr 700?

And my next question is: How is the seat fitted to the motorcycle? Because I really would like to customize it but by myself and i wanted to know, if i could rip off the seat from the seatframe ( idk how to say it, i mean the thing where the seat is fitted to, which goes then on the motorcycle) and then build my own seat on it. Could someone maybe post a pic from the seat but the side facing to the bike, and also the bike with the seat removed?

I really appreciate any help :D

greetings from switzerland.

Hello mate,

The MT-07 and XSR700 are the same bike, just look different so it's probably a good idea to test the MT07 if you can't get on an XSR700.

The seat is fitted with just a latch which releases when you put the key in. I don't see why you couldn't build your own seat as long as you replicate the bottom of the seat. I'll try and get some pics for you later.
thanks mate that would be awesome :)
I have never rided an MT07 but all the dealers told me that its not the same bike, they all told me the riding is so much fun and easy on the XSR, its the same engine and the same chassis, but a different bike.. So i ve been told... And sorry about my English too... :) I will try to take a picture of the thing...
In what ways were you thinking to customize the seat? For comfort? Cosmetic reasons? or both?
You can easily remove the seat and reupholster it if you want, maybe even add in additional padding provided you know how to put everything back together.

I would like to make it look more cafe racer stylish like in the 2nd picture, but instead of the stock rear light, i would like to install something similar like the picture on the left. Does anyone know if the same kit exists for the xsr 700? and are there pictures?

Ah!
This rear light is so nice! Makes the bike look as it came from the future! Could be the beginning of a new futurist customizing style for our xsr! ;)
I think that rear light is a flexible strip so can be curved around any shape.
That rear light is available from a company in America called New rage cycles. They make a kit for the XSR700 but I haven't seen it mounted on one yet. I was going to get one but it worked out cheaper to get a garage to make me a custom one as per my photos on my profile.

Edit: Looking at their site I can't see a kit for the XS700 but when I spoke to them on instagram before they said it will fit both. Best to email them and check.

Hey I asked New Rage Cycles on Instagram aswell and they said to me that there is no such thing for the xsr700. If you make a custom one, where do you get those kind of LED from? Like in the pics
