Hi, I'm looking for anybody that is willing to swap seats. I have the standard black seat on my green XSR and would love to fit the brown seat. Would probably consider postage, I am hoping to collect one local but hay ho. - England .. West Midlands

Hi. Did you manage to swap seat? I have a brown one in Bedfordshire. Looking for black.
Guessing you guys got your seat sorted? I'll be wanting to swap a black one for a brown one in a couple of weeks (I have the black).
Wouldn't life be easier if Yamaha simply gave us the option of choosing the colour of our perch! The black - brown swaps and sales seem to be a popular theme in the classifieds. It worked for me - brown seat on a Forest Green bike - lovely!

Matt - it's worth putting a wanted post in the relevant classifieds section. The going rate for s/hand seat sales in the UK is about £100 inc postage.

Thanks Tigerjohn! I might take a look over there then
I am looking for a photo tutorial, or video, dealing with how to get the seat off for this.

Reattaching too... obviously.

Much appreciated!
for real?

to remove: put key in left hand side key barrel below seat - turn clockwise - lift the seat from the back.

to reattach: put seat in slot at front first, the push down on middle/back.

if someone needs a video for that then they should maybe go back to pedal bikes!

EDIT: so in fairness, when I first got my bike it had covers over the side key barrel and I had to look in the manual to see how the seat came off... :p

.......and if you're fitting the single seat, don't forget to remove the rubber spacer at the rear of the standard OEM seat before you put the single seat on. All pretty straight forward!
