I would also like to know how to do this.
Okay, I have got the same exhaust system and before buying it I was told that these new exhausts comply to a newer EU control and the DB killer is put in such a way that its not as easy to remove. However, there is a way around it, you will have a professional or a dealer to unweld the sides of the db killer basically chop the stuck metal between the killer and the exhaust pipe. Once removed, you will be left with small holes which you can use with some small nut and bolts to put the db killer back.

It sounds serious however its not that difficult. It took my dealer 5 minutes to perform the job.

Be careful removing the DB killers. I took mine to a garage to be done. One came out relatively easy. The other got stick and caused quite a bit of damage. Luckily the bloke in the garage is going to order the parts or replace the whole can for me. But either way it's not as easy as it seems.
Hi,
I have seen a video where someone with an XSR 700 has removed the dbkiller from a double pipe Akrapovic exhaust. See here: https://youtu.be/i9zD89SVjog

I think it could be helpful....

the sound is superb not to loud on my opinion.:)
I do not know if all akrapovic dual exhausters are made the same, because the euro4 regulations.
The certificate that comes with exhausters it is dated April 2016.

Tools that you need:
1 ) A Set of drills for inox materials
2) A PVC Pipe diameter 40mm 1 meter
3) drilling machine
4) Support for the drilling machine so you can make the drill perfectly
5) hammer with rubber tip (do not worry it is not to bang in the exhausters)

Procedures
1) Carefully remove the exhausts from the bike
2) Remove the small round plastic cover from the end of the exhausts
3) If you see the picture there is a small recess on the material (in this point the de DB killers are weld to the exhausters pipes)
4) Drilling must cover all the recess in order to guarantee that the weld is removed
5) Put the PVC pipe on the back of the exhausts
6) Roll a towel on the exhauster
7) Put the exhauster between your legs :grin2: with the tube facing forward
8) knock the pipe with the hammer .... the DB-Killer will come off behind you

This is great! Looks quite simple.

Thank you very much :grin2:
I've got the single high mounted Akrvpovic on my XSR700, looks very similar build (I have the plastic cap near the end of the exhaust as well, which would need drilling I suspect the same). I will have a go over the weekend and report back with before and after videos if successful.
Last week i installed the short akrapovic form MT07 in my xsr. I decided not remove the DBKiller because i was worried if it makes a lot of noise. Now i'm thinking on it and may be i'll remove next week to really know how many noise it makes... >:) I think the procedure is the same, so, thanks for the information!!!
great job! video for sound???

How did you go with the high mount?
I have done this to my bike and it was an simple task just like in the pictures sergiopinto posted.

But i think there is one moore just where the Y pipe goes on the damper under the engine.
I have an smaller tube sticking out from the bigger tube.
And its welded at three places.
so once this is removed can you put it back if you dont like it?
If i weld it back perhaps!

dang, so there are no threads on the insert? i wonder if you could order an insert from akra that has threads im pretty sure the non yamaha branded one from them the insert is removable with a bolt
I can take some pictures this weekend.
