Possible XSR700 owner

Hello, everyone! I am currently an owner of a BMW F650GS (800cc) motorbike and thinking of going for a switch. I always wanted to build a scrambler kind of bike and xsr700 seems to be much customizable and ideal for that purpose.

I have recently sat on a XSR700 and I am thinking of removing the subframe and installing a customized lower seat. For some reason the bike feels a bit tall for its kind, same height as the F650gs although the latter is an On-Off bike.

Welcome to the forums, the F650GS is a pretty cool bike, but I think the xsr700 would be pretty cool to use to build on. A lower seat would be nice, Not too sure how it would affect you're arm positioning depending on how low you drop it
I'd be willing to drop it by 1 or 1,5 inches. and the riding position will be similar to the one I have with the F650gs now which is fine for me. maybe I will add some kind of risers. I have the touratech risers on the F650GS. The thing is before I commit to the switch I want to test ride but nowhere available in my area.

I am 5' 7'' - 5' 8'' and the XSR700 seemed maybe a bit taller than the F650gs. I think it had to do with the wider seat and maybe because the steering wheel on the XSR is a bit lower so you have to bend a little.
What concerns me most before I commit to the switch is the riding and suspension quality of the XSR compared to the F650GS. Unfortunately where I live I can't find one to test ride it.
I'm 5'8" tall and the bike is a perfect height for me and is easier to swing a leg over than my R6, the seat cowl on the R6 makes the height a couple of inches taller.
Welcome to the forum.
Thank you. I've only had 2 motorbikes and both of them have been beemers (on-off). So I am a bit hesitant to cross the Yamaha river. I like the faster sons project...
