@gnarlydog - Thanks for sharing the pictures. You have a good eye for composition and I enjoyed the variety too.

I tend to take pictures that are function based and forget to look for esthetically pleasing moments to photograph. I used to do more of that on solo rides.
thank you.

I almost never take a photograph during a group ride as it is a bit of inconvenience to the other riders that necessarily might not be into photography.
As you said, on solo rides I can stop where and when I want, take a few minutes to walk around to get the best angle and then take a few exposures.
Ah, BTW I am a terrible phone-photographer and I still need a "real" camera to create the image I want
The above one is actually a 3 different exposures (to compensate for the high contrast light) and then blended in post-production with masking the too-dark or too-light areas :geek:

Looks like your rear fender got tired of carrying that heavy pelicase around all the time 😅
Maybe mount it inside the left luggage rack?

On my other bike I mounted a similarly sized toolcase on the skidplate:

I've run that set up on several bikes for many 10's of thousands of miles w/o incident. But yes, it the rear fender snapped off when I went over a large Rail Road crossing hump yesterday. I have seen the mountings inside the pannier frame and on skid plates for ADV style bikes. I will consider that, but may just fabricate a metal rear fender tail and re-mount the box there. The XSR has a more delicate tail, it would seem! ;)
