Recently had the EML light on, struggled to find any info on the pin-outs, so bought a converter that converts the diagnostic connector on the XSR700 to OBD2 that can be be plugged into a CAN capable reader to Read/Erase fault codes.
Thought this might be of value to those of you out there who are willing, capable, and like to do these things yourself.
Yamaha -> OBD2
1 -> 14
2 -> 6
3 -> 4
4 -> 16
If you want to make your own cable with proper connectors, you'll need
1. Sumitomo 4 pin male (Yamaha end)
2. OBD2 female (OBD2 CAN Reader end)
3. any decent 4 core cable (not sure if there are length restrictions, or if you need to twist 1&2.)
