Recently had the EML light on, struggled to find any info on the pin-outs, so bought a converter that converts the diagnostic connector on the XSR700 to OBD2 that can be be plugged into a CAN capable reader to Read/Erase fault codes.

Thought this might be of value to those of you out there who are willing, capable, and like to do these things yourself.

Yamaha -> OBD2
1 -> 14
2 -> 6
3 -> 4
4 -> 16

If you want to make your own cable with proper connectors, you'll need
1. Sumitomo 4 pin male (Yamaha end)
2. OBD2 female (OBD2 CAN Reader end)
3. any decent 4 core cable (not sure if there are length restrictions, or if you need to twist 1&2.)

Launch CReader 4001 supports reading and erasing DTCs, I/M Readiness Status. I'm using this for my Toyota prius Plug In 2014 and working fine. Its helps me to see live data stream, turning off Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) and help me fix them quickly and efficiently,and it was easy to use and easy to understand.I think this is a must have for any car owners.
