Just put a downpayment on a Raspberry Red XSR700 and pick it up March 2nd 2018. I'll swap the stock handlebars with an XSR900 stock bars and have Forks by Matt put his Showa kit up front and a Nitron (double/triple? not sure) on the rear. It will see the street and occasional track-day for spirited but not 90%+ riding.

Long trips will default to my 2000 VFR -- has Ohlins, CBR F4i forks, de-linked brakes, bags, heated grips, and a bunch of other farkles and 95,000 miles so far and going strong.

Look forward to much fun riding W. VA, VA, PA and Ohio roads on the XSR.

Congrats on the bike! What is this Showa kit for the front forks that you mentioned?
Forks by Matt takes GSXR (06?) Internals and caps, turns the caps on a lathe to fit XSR tubes, re-shims and gives you preload, comp and rebound with the huge diameters on Showa valving for plush ride.

Oh i see, I assumed it was an off the shelf solution like some of the other internals. Do give us an update on how they feel in a few months time! I've been fining the fronts lacking...

Nitron Shock, 700lb spring fitted. Matris cartridges wit 0.95 springs and custom Valving. (rebound R leg, compressor L leg) Thank ForksbyMatt!!

New XSR700 has Atomic Silver rims. Fabbed a stainless bracket to move the spedometer ahead of the triples and lower XSR900 handle bars. Feels like a proper bike after a test ride Saturday at 45F outside.
