led tail light/indicators issues

Hi all.
Ok I have tried a led rear tail light with built in indicators on my xsr but could not get it to work correctly. It functioned perfectly when wired straight to the battery though.

I then purchased a r+g tail light. This worked fine but threw up the engine warning light. After a quick chat with r+g at the bike show they sent me (foc) a resistor that you simply wire inline and it is supose to cure this issue.

So I have now purchased some led rear indicators and once again they don't work when wired up to the loom but function perfectly when wired direct to the battery!

Apparently this is a common issue with the Mt range as well. Just wondering if anyone can shed any light😉 on what may be causing these problems and a solution as I have the rear end exactly like I want it now and just need everything to work.
