It will be noisy as ****, it will affect handling and will probably affect fuel consumption. As much I enjoy the looks I would not go for it, especially when I mostly use the bike on-road. I used to ride on those tyres http://www.dunlop.eu/dunlop_euen/mc/tyres/on_road/Sportmax_Mutant.jsp on my XJ6. They had the best combination of grip and handling, but they don't come at 180.

Thanks bbninja. It seems less appealing now you've put it that way. I use my bike solely for the short commute to work plus some fun on the weekends (all of which is on the road). I think I'll stick with the pirelli's for now.

Ohhh, thought you were going to use them for off-road riding. Yeah, they're meant for off-roading and they have less grip on the street than normal street tires and could be illegal for street use unless they are D.O.T. knobby tires.
