I’m looking to buy my first bike, pending passing my test, hopefully by the end of this month. I really like the XSR700 but I have some reservations.
Originally I was contemplating buying a KTM Adventure 390 or a Honda CB500X. I’m too busy for long distance touring at the moment.
I came across the XSR700 and I quite like the idea and specially the look of the bike. At the moment I will be mostly looking to use the bike for day to day run around, 100 mile per day runs and the occasional 300 mile day to Scotland. I will probably also pop over to Ireland and Isle of White…That sort of distance.
I may have a lot of free time in 6 months and I may head east riding. Probably still 100 mile days and a few longer ones.
The question is would this bike be comfortable with a windshield, heated grips…for this sort of use?
I normally travel light (40L bag for 2 months of backpacking). Would I be able to fit everything on this bike (40L is cloths laptop,…) with particular bike stuff required?
How easy is it to take pillions on rides up to 100 miles? Total 2 passenger weight of 140kg.
Alternative bike I've looked is the Honda CB650R. Any thoughts?
