The xsr700 stock tires are fine, and maybe you've changed them out for something else. Post up a picture of what your tires look like now and how far you've gone on them.

Someone rode theirs for a good 8050 km before retiring theirs.

Wow thats 1 seriously knackered tire... he clearly spends alot of time upright on the motorway or doing burnouts in the garden.... 8000 miles is not tooooo shabby.

My rear needs replacing now at ~7,500 miles. I've been racking up a lot of motorway miles though unfortunately, so it's got the classic flat spot from that.

I'm looking at Continental ContiRoadAttack series as a replacement. As much as I dig the offroad look, on-road performance is what I'll need 99.9% of the time.
