As you know there are a few installation videos on Youtube regarding the Evotech Tail tidy, but if you want to install it with the high mount Akra it's a bit diffrent. I took a few pictures during the install process and i thought that i would share them on the forum for you all to see.

Pic 1. The Shipping from Evotech was smooth and fast. Under one week to Sweden.

Pic 2. The classic before picture. Beautiful bike, but a bit messy in the rear section :smile2:

Pic 3. The high mount Akra uses a different bracket for the fitting. The bolts marked with a red circle holds the bracket under the fender.

Pic 4. These spacers are used to mount the high Akra exhaust. But to fit the Evotech tail tidy you will have to machine out/cut off the part that i've marked with a red square.

Pic 5. After you modified the spacers they fit together with the tail tidy. Use the same bolts as in pic 3 to mount the bracket for the Akra.

Pic 6 & 7. The lady got herself a tidy rear end...

Great write up kenme, was it easy to fabricate the 2 pieces?

Actually nothing had to be fabricated, only modified. The spacers came with the high mount Akra. I only had to cut them a bit and though i did it in a lathe i'm sure you could cut it with a regular metal saw.

Good to know! Definitely on my list of things to do, tail looks so much better. Any issues with the indicator and the exhaust? No chance of melting?

Hi, no problems with the indicators. Just make shure that you mount them in the fitting holes right by the numberplate (there are two positions on the Evotech tail tidy witch you can use)

I had my bike serviced yesterday (break-in oil change) and had the local Yamaha dealer install the Akrapovic high mount exhaust while the bike was in. Me and my friend were going to install Tail Tidys to both of our bikes last night, but we ran into problems on his bike, when we couldn't get the Finnish registration plate fit the Evotech bracket, so we didn't get around to modifying my bike. It looks like we need to drill new holes to the Tail Tidy to get the plate installed nice and clean.

Does anyone have any info on the measurements of these spacers that need to be modified? I was thinking I'd try to find fitting spacers from a hardware store so I wouldn't have to modify the original spacers. This would save a lot of time and nerves and would also help when selling the bike and/or exhaust in the future.
I know it's a bit of an old thread, but i just wanted to say thanks for the great write-up(y)
I installed the tail tidy today and it looks awesome:cool:
Just used a hacksaw to cut of the small part of the spacer and it fit like a glove.
