After waiting 44 years to take my bike test I've just purchased my XSR in garage metal as my first bike. Love the look and the way it handles plus it's comfortable for my 6'2" size. Just trying to get those running in miles done ;-)

I'm not normally one to do the introductions but hi, hello. Welcome to xsr700 forum :) ...my first bike also and loving it. Any plans for your bike?
I've heard that waiting times for UK bike tests have been increasing recently - but 44 years......? Good choice for a first bike. Welcome to the forum!
No major plans for customising it at the moment. I had fittted a Puig screen yesterday which i tried this evening. When I got back I noticed it had almost broken off the brackets. Glad it didn't happen whilst I was riding it. Now to see if the company in France will do something about it.

Do you think the screen might have been overtightened?
Welcome to the forum Warichodo. Good choose of color on the bike :) And good luck with the running in, i'm in that process myself but the spring here in Sweden seems to be taking a pause. Temperatures around +4 and freezing winds...
Welcome aboard, It's such an easy bike to ride... alot of fun too. Doesn't sound good about the screen, which puig model screen is it??

Intros are powerful just for getting your footprint on the forum. Never used to do them but when I started on other communities it develops some nice rapport with the community. Sometimes I get too caught up in the product or service the community is about and not the human side of it all.
Welcome to the forums ! Gee that would have been quite scary if it were to have just torn off mid-ride
Cheers Paul,

Yep very true. For the amount of obsessing and checking posts on the forum i do, hopefully ive graduated to responding to welcoming intro's ;)
hello and welcome matey
It was their naked model of screen ref 0869F
Do you think the screen might have been overtightened?
Hi, I know it looks like that may have been the case but i was very careful not to over tighten just so I didn't stress the plastic. I put on a little threadlock and just nipped the screws very gently. Anyway, SD MOTO have refunded the purchase with no argument. I'm not sure if I will bother with another screen though.
Thanks

Thanks to all for the welcome messages. FYI, the company has refunded without argument and without having to mess about sending it back to France, I thought that was pretty decent of them, SD Moto is their name on e bay. Not sure I will bother with another screen though.
Belated welcome to the forum Warichodo! Great choice for a first bike!
