Hi there,

I have been going though some of the very informative threads on the forum and then decided to ask a few questions before I sign the dotted line in a couple of days.

I was in the market for a new MT07 and loved the engine however the riding position wasnt for me untill I saw the XSR700. Just fell in love with the beast and decided to get one for my self.

The colour I am after is silver with a few R&G protectors on. My question is what kind of discounts (if any) are people getting on their XSRs.

Any other thing which i should be looking at before i take the plunge?

Hey man, im not far off from you, I live in berkshire. Only thing i got from the dealer was £100 of accessories. A few months later i talked to them about a Akrapovic exhaust and managed to get them to price match another company and throw in free fitting. I also have the silver and it is pure sex!

I will pick up mine maybe next Saturday (if wheter conditions will avoit it)...in Silver too!

The price of the bike i configurated was 8640€ (i equipped the bike with 6 original accessories)

Gaving back no bike, i paid 8000€ (Registration fee and with Yamaha 5 years warranty included)

Imfinally managed to get the dealer to throw in R&G accessories worth £250 and an extra £100 on the part ex.

So I have finally bought the bike and picking up may be next week or so.

I was quite interested in the exhaust however the dealer didn't have any demo available.

Where abouts are you, I am in Windsor. It'll be nice to meet you once i pick up mine.

Sounds like the discounts are pretty modest but you should be able to squeeze a little something out of them if you are good customer and give them a nice smile. What are you hoping for?

I was hoping to get a good old cash discount as i used to get with Honda however Yamaha seems a little different when it comes to discount. So I ended up getting a good part ex and around £250 worth of accessories..

Just down the road in bracknell, yeah can do a little ride sometime for sure. The exhaust sounds amazing, i run the baffle in another chap on here has the titanium one with the baffle out. The baffle out on the carbon is mad loud and i have neighbours, however it still sounds awesome with baffle in.

Those that served should might be able to get a nice discounts since typically that's the case especially with brands like GM setting the stage for that and really giving back. Sure we have some army folks on this forum.

Hi, I got my 'garage metal' XSR from Chorley Yam. Got a great deal - £250 off the asking price with heated grips (Oxfords) thrown in.
I know them fairly well and bought bikes off them previously, I was a cash buyer with no part-ex, so I guess that all helped- plus I pushed pretty hard!
Although they are my local dealer, I did my homework and they were definitely the cheapest in the UK for a new XSR.
Im really happy with the deal I got and can recommend Chorley Yam.

On R&G website its coming to £340 (parts only). So I think I did alright there..:wink2:

Must have been one of those higher volume dealerships or one in an area with enough competition around since that's when making good deals is really worth it.

Glad to hear you got that much off. Good money that can be allocated to accessories that you plan to get.
