Just rode my bike home from the dealers, first ride, loved it. Although I did notice that there is some flex where the handlebars fit to the top yoke. I thought it might be some sort of vibration eliminator, then I thought it might just be loose. Has anyone else got this or should I ride all the way back to the dealer??

Welcome on the family!

Yes, there is should be a silent block to reduce the vibrations on the handlebar!
It seems strange you can feel some movements on the handlebar...you should take a call to your dealer!
It can be dangerous if they done a bad tightening of the screws.
Please, don't take risks bringing the bike to your dealer, but expect they come at home to do a check!
They mounted the handlebars...so the dealer have the responsability

There is a washer between the stem and the yoke, also a washer between the dome nut and the underside of the yoke. So everything tightens onto the rubber bushing which is within the yoke. So there is no metal on metal. It isn't loose but this allows slight forward/backward movement (5-10mm) at bar end.

Are everyone else's handlebars solid in this direction??

Dealer now shut till next week.

I saw a French review clip on here, the bike that he reviewed did the same thing.

Just want to hear from a few more people to see their thoughts.

Cheers

Neil

It started to bug me a bit under hard braking.
So now I have now taken out the upper washer so that the stem tightens down onto the yoke. Did 80 miles like that today didn't notice any more vibes than yesterday.
Might run it like this for a bit.

I noticed the same handlebar movement a couple days after getting the bike. I called to the yamaha shop and they confirmed me that it's a normal movement due to the silent blocks.
