Got around to fitting the new exhaust this morning...It's quite loud. I don't think my iphone footage does it justice

That works, thanks. Doesn't sound like a very subtle exhaust, which can be bad or good :)

Yeah, it's not that subtle. I almost put the original back on as my ears were ringing :) I think the noise will dissipate a bit when out in the open air though...Love the look of it though over the stock exhaust. At £250.00 it didn't break the bank either

Well took the bike out this morning for a quick 20 miles and although I'm loving the look of it, not sure I can handle the sound of it. Sounds awesome but don't know whether its for me :(

I'll try again in the week with ear plugs..might be back on with the fugly stock exhaust

How’s the exhaust treating you? Like it or? I’m torn with whether to get one or not. Love the look of the tec, but unsure it’s for me with it not being CE stamped and being on the “loud” side.

Felt the same when I first tried the Black Widow on mine. But you soon realise the stock one is too quiet if anything, and you notice pedestrians don't glare at you, and pretty soon you get used to it - mine even passed its MOT (first one) last month even though I thought it would be an obvious fail, tester didn't even mention it.
Has anyone tried MOT a bike with tec exhaust fitted within the UK?? Thanks!
Mine had a Tec fitted when I got it. Living in a quiet village it was impossible. I tried fitting Tec's baffle, but the quietening effect was minimal.
Sometimes it dosn't matter if you like a loud exhaust, in some places, unless you want to annoy everyone, its just not possible.
With a very cheap s/h standard exhaust I can come and go and nobody even notices.

I like a lot of the after market exhausts but it's not like they add hp, even the sc conic designed for the 700 is about the same numbers, so it comes down to sound and style. My oem looks good, doesn't sound loud but sounds fine enough. And other exhausts if you don't reflash you are losing performance. Some people the exhaust and note is their favorite and most important mod. Me it was the hand levers, then the indicators and tail. If I keep the bike another couple years then definitely the tires. Different strokes.
