Booked her in today for her 1st service with a local very reputable bike spanner twirler @doncastermotorcycles 20 quid cheaper than the dealer so quite chuffed

Also had a play with mounting and repositioning of the speedo. The oem position I've found to be too far back so to take a look at it means taking my eyes off the road.
So fashioning a new hanger using the mount under the polished yam cover above the light now gives a great "glance" position without having to look away from the road.

Also what screen is that you have on your bike. Its looks excellent!!! Is it the yam oem or an aftermarket?

Just under 700 fella = put it away in the winter so just clicked over the service marker miles in the last few weeks

Is the yam Aftermarket one which I managed to get as part of the deal = my Bro-in-law had the exact same bike over in the Isle of Man but went with the solid silver one which looks amazing

Ah right.... yeah this weather is pants, although managed to get out on both mine a week ago...great to have a blast though. An XSR700 went past my house on Warning Tongue lane on the same day (Saturday) thought it might have been you...but obviously not...

speak of the devil...Mine went in for its 1st service last Monday too, also had the wiring recall done at the same time.

I have the same speedo bracket as well, just tucks up under the yamaha screens nicely. I made the pattern up for it and had Dad make some out of stainless, as well as an exhaust hanger for me.

Its good to have a good metal basher in the family isn't it Dave ?
Certainly helps if you have the knowledge/equipment to do things like this....i have a full engineering machine shop at my disposal....shame i hardly ever get the time to do my own stuff....not enough hours in the day....:|

Hi mate would u be able to email me the pattern? I want to move speedo as well. Can't just keep looking down most of the time.
The first service feels like a ***** to me.. £150 for a couple of litres of oil... keeps warranty though.

540 miles in 6 weeks here

Mine was free (first one at 1000km) ....I assumed it always was.
Been playing in my mind with buying a Gilles tooling bracket for the speedo too after I saw it on racingkoala´s bike but I lack the Yamaha frontal number plate so I´m not sure how´ld that play out...
Hi, what did you used for speedo reposition? Some bracket? Can you send me the name of the company like Brogue or Gilles? Thank you guys
