Exhaust Wrap

Hi guys,
what is your opinion about exhaust wrap?
I think it fits good on XSR700, not sure about the pros and cons though.

I think it can look great. I considered it for the xsr to keep the black theme but a lot of forums suggest it holds moisture and can rust the pipes.

I've also read about people paining/coating the pipe. I guess that would be more expensive, but I'm also thinking it would look better as well.
