Engine temperature

Hey! Today commuting 10km on city, my xsr engine temperature popped up to 105ºC.
Is that normal? I was riding on 4000 rpm and the ambience temperature is 19ºC.
I asked the mechanic and told me that this is normal and a fan should activate at that point.
What do you think, guys?

My XSR makes the same.

When I ride around the city the tempeature rises to 105ºC and at this point the fan turn on. Then the temperature goes down until 99ºC/100ºC and the fan stops.

I think that is normal.

Alright, I´m not used to this cc engines yet. I come from 250cc air cooled and never gets that hot!
Cheers.
I can confirm, yesterday I did a "longer" than usual ride, daily temperature was around 20-22 C.. Engine first was at 96, then 105 and after the fan began cooling, temp gone back to 92 C :)
Same here, my daily ride temp is around 30-34 C and the engine goes up to 105C real quick and the fan kicks in. Same for my GSXR, nothing to worry about.
It is common, my previous moto a Yamaha XJ6 was running at the same temperatures. 90 degrees is considered a normal temp.
After first service i was told that my coolant was low and they have topped it up. I checked on a 2 hr run to cheddar gorge and my bike floated between 82-95°
