Okay so i have given the bike a thorough clean up and acf50 sesh and all was fine i rode it aprox 30 miles after and i didnt notice the light...it has been parked in my garage for aprox 3 weeks and all of a sudden the engine management light is on.......i have recently changed the exhaust for a custom built but its been fitted a few months now and never thrown up a light......

Ive ordered a fault code machine and appropriate adaptor....im hoping its just water in a sensor perhaps.......

Sounds like that could be the case. Mine threw an engine light a few weeks back too, although I knew why. The bike fell off the race stand and snapped off the rear ABS sensor cable. I was pissed to say the least! Anyways, turns out that Yamaha have got an in-house system to reset engine lights. It's a web based program they use to diagnose system faults through a computer. Yamaha sorted out the light issue for me for nothing, but if I could do it with an OBD tool at home in future that'd be awesome.

Let us know how you go.
