I've only sat on an xsr900 in the shop. Very similar position. XSR700 is slightly more upright due to the handlebars.

Try an FZ07 while waiting for the US stock. It's very similar, XSR700 is slightly taller and more upright due to handlebars.

Im 5,11 with 34" inner leg riding jean. Fits me perfect.
Thanks,

Great suggestion

We should see them in Canada in early spring

That is pretty cool. I kept pushing up the rider height to see how ridiculous a 12 foot giant would look on a bike!
When I sat on both of them in a showroom I found the XSR suited me better. Mainly because the 900 had a wider 3 cilinder engine and I felt my legs ankles had to bend in an uncomfortable way to clear the crank case and still hit the pedals. Probably best if I never ride a Harley :D
MY deal was the same price too change xsr700 or xsr900 if you are tall say 6'3" or over your legs will not fit the tank cut outs on the 900
Ryan @ fort 9 points this out (love is road tests ).
I would have been seduced by the 115bhp triple which should make a parallel twin seem a bit boring, but my part ex was a MT 09tracer so i did not want the same engine again.
75bhp is perfect for a naked retro style bike; cycle world also said xsr900 not the bike you want.
