Better looking commuter friendly mirrors?

The standard mirrors are a bit of an eye sore but mostly very useful. They are at exactly the wrong height for filtering though; hovering about van/SUV height.

Would be great to hear from anyone who upgraded their mirrors to something better looking but still useful. Some bar end mirrors stick out a minimal amount, are they any good? I suspect the ones that stick out will make filtering even harder!

The one I installed (Montana Highsider) are nice and useful but they are not the best for filtering.
Has anybody fitted bar end mirrors? Please post piks and links as its a small mine field of bar end mirrors out their.

Im not too savvy when it comes to bike mechanical set up but do the bar end weights need to be their? Do they help handling? Are the mirrors pre weighted or does it not matter with some mirrors due to fitment ie clamp on the bar end weight etc?

Info please from those who have reflected (get the pun) on the oem and improved. Oh and pictures obviously lol.
Hello mate,

I got some from eBay, they were about £30 from china but they are solid. Real decent weight behind them and good quality. They clamp onto the original bar ends but do come with some replacements if needed.

I did have to use the bar ends they sent with them as I changed the handle bars and the ends weren't threaded. Visibility is good enough, not as good as the originals. They are ok for filtering, I ride into central London so it can get tight. Bar ends are never going to be ideal but I think they look better then the originals.

I see some decent ones from Rizoma to replace the originals but the prices are too much for me to stomach.

Thanks john. I like the look of them and with the lower profile bars it looks the business.
Thanks for the info!!!!! any product number on ebay at all?
Try to search on google or ebay
"Emola end mirror"
I have on my bike. They are great ... it's a copy of the rizoma mirror.
I've just bought some Oberon Streetfighter bar end mirrors. They're brilliant, had them on my last 2 bikes. I'll post some photos once they arrive and they're fitted!

These are the same ones from the same seller, the exact listing I bought them from is no longer available to view. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Motorcycl...299140?hash=item35fb97d804:g:QVUAAOSwl9BWLdPp
Thanks gents for all your help and for the link john. Appreciate your help and guidance. So what i can gather is i need a mirror that has either a 13 or 17mm packer to fit 7/8 bar diameter.....i hope lol lots on the bay from £8.99 - £30.00 and they all seem the same with no real branding.
I think the super cheap ones are plastic. I ordered a cheap pair before for £10. They looked good but they were plastic and used to fold when I went over 40mph! Proper rubbish!
I paid about £15 for mine and they're spot on for the money.
Got them off Amazon....mistakenly thought they were £15 each....and ended up with two pairs:laugh::laugh::laugh:
With the Lsl bars on in pic.

Yeah they look the same mate, are yours metal? For £15 you got a bargain!
Yeah deffo if you got a amazon product number that would be great as at that price i cant say no.
Looks like they're even cheaper now....i had to build some tape up on the bar ends to make them fit until I made up some alloy spacers at work, so if you get some let me know and I'll do some for you if you want...

Yes John metal/alloy you have to be a bit careful tightening them up as I stripped a thread on one and had to helicoil it...but I'm more than happy with them..
I got these guys as they were not expensive and i like the round shape of them

From ebay and probably china rip offs but for a few quid no dramas

Why worry, if they do the job and last then it's a win win...can't see the point on spending more than you have to on mirrors providing they give you a good rear view....and i like the fact they're round as it ties in with the rear light/speedo too..
