Hi there,
I'm NreeK from NE Melbourne, Australia. Next week I'm doing the obligatory 2 day course before getting my Learners bike licence. I have been searching low and high for the right bike and I think I've found it in the XSR700. I will be using it to commute through some twisties, then 2-3 lane highways, and sometimes 4 lane freeways. I'll also use it to get out of the city and enjoy the hills. My wife wants to get on the back when I'm ready for it.
Please, someone, try to talk me out of it :wink2:
Has anyone else started their motorcycle riding on an XSR?
Cheers,
NreeK

Hi and then welcome :smile2:

Started riding bikes in the late 70's and a few bikes before the XSR so definitely not the first for me :grin2:

Don't do it - you'll hate every minute. The XSR is a dreadful bike! Oh well, if you don't believe it, I suppose you really should buy one and decide for yourself. Just don't say you weren't warned.

Welcome to the forum!

Hey Nreek, welcome to the forum!!!
I am a forest green XSR 700 proud owner since 3 months of the public launch from Yamaha. It has been my very first bike and I'm so glad about it! It really is a good bike with high performances but easy engine and cycle. It is so wonderfully looking, so enjoyable to ride, and generally so nicer than every other bike of the same type. Wouldn't never ever consider swapping it for any other bike! My girlfriend enjoys the rides on the 2-passengers seat and always tells me how comfortable (of course its not a car!) the xsr is! I'm sure you will be very very pleased of it! ;)
I've been riding for 38 years - this is the best bike I've ever had. Nothing more to add, really!
