Forgive my naivety or noobieness, can anyone advise me on something.
I have been looking around at aftermarket exhausts (as I can't justify the £1100 for the akropovic). Am I ok to just buy one and bolt it on, will the bike run ok etc.

Any aftermarket exhaust really needs the fuel mapping so suit. Without it you'll get a tiny drop in power, maybe a lull at snap acceleration and also the lovely pops, bangs and burbles.

There are many options right now. Most MT-07 exhausts will fit due to having the same frame, engine and fixing points.

SC project have a lovely one. Akro will have the underslung in July.

There's some from Dan Moto. But most aren't retro looking so partially spoil the lines and look, imho.

You could go MT-07 Akro for around £500. That's what I did.

Just the thought of what the Akra system will cost makes me feel uneasy, but the sound they typically put out will be worth it, almost have to see it as an investment, investment in your fun.

The short exhaust like the original.
In my opinion there is no need to remap unless you put some racing open air filter.

Rather than the up, over and pointing "out back".

The reason I suggested mapping or adjusting the fuelling is the reduction in back pressure with the altered exhaust, even with the sensor in the system, allows less than perfect fuelling.

There's many solutions, most involve a small box being fitted with a specific map being loaded.

What happens if there is no where to put the lambda sensor on an aftermarket Exhaust?

You have to disconnect it and you get an ECU warning. I believe.

There is a way to remove that, possible ECU flash or remap box that spooks the ECU into thinking all is well.

However I am unsure.

When tuning cars, I always added more sensors rather than removing them.

Tuning, adding parts, trying to eek out power can't be done without better fuelling, better air supply, better timing and better monitoring.

Ultimately, I'm not looking for better performance, just want it to sound a bit louder, as it is as quiet as my stock 125 was.

I got the akro carbon and you really get what you pay for. That and the titanium one Kaptain are talking about sound so so nice, def worth the big price tag! Only thing i didnt like about the titanium is that its branded with MT07, carbon only has a big horrible akro sticker on XD
